Mazda Paint Code: Where to Find It

Your Mazda paint code is a 2–3 character code, such as 25D or 46V. On most Mazdas sold in Australia it's on the build plate in the engine bay, at the back near the firewall. Newer models also have it on a sticker in the driver's door jamb. That code is all we need to mix your touch-up paint to Mazda's factory colour.

Where to find the paint code on your Mazda

Model Where to look
Mazda2, Mazda3, Mazda6 Build plate in the engine bay near the firewall. Newer models: driver's door jamb sticker
CX-3, CX-30, CX-5, CX-8, CX-9, CX-60, CX-90 Driver's door jamb sticker or the engine bay build plate
BT-50 Build plate in the engine bay or driver's door jamb
MX-5 Engine bay build plate or driver's door jamb

How to read a Mazda paint label

Look for the word COLOR or PAINT on the plate or sticker. The code next to it is your paint code. Mazda codes are 2 or 3 characters, letters and numbers mixed, like 25D, 41W or 46V. A separate trim code may sit nearby. You can ignore it.

A colour can be called many different names, and Mazda sometimes renames colours between markets. That's why we mix by the code, not the name.

Soul Red, Machine Grey and Snowflake White

These are Mazda's layered colours, built in several coats at the factory. On a stone chip or small scratch, the shade matters most, so we mix them to match the finished shade. If you choose the Professional Kit, we also supply the extra layer.
