Ford Paint Code: Where to Find It
On most modern Fords, including the Ranger and Everest, the paint code is on the certification label in the driver's door jamb, next to EXT PNT or PAINT. On older Australian-built Falcons and Territorys, it's on the build plate in the engine bay. That code is all we need to mix your touch-up paint to Ford's factory colour.
Where to find the paint code on your Ford
| Model | Where to look |
|---|---|
| Ranger, Everest | Certification label on the driver's door jamb (B-pillar) |
| Focus, Fiesta, Escape, Puma, Mustang | Driver's door jamb label |
| Transit | Driver's door jamb or the build plate near the bonnet catch |
| Falcon, Territory (older Australian-built) | Build plate in the engine bay, often on the inner guard or radiator support |
How to read a Ford paint label
Look for EXT PNT (exterior paint) or PAINT on the label. The code after it is your paint code. Ford codes are often 2 or 3 characters, like G1 or 38P. Newer models may show a 5-character code, like PN4FZ. If yours looks different, send us a photo of the label.

Earlier Rangers were developed with Mazda and share some Mazda paint codes, such as Arctic White A4D. To see which colours your exact model came in, look it up on Red Book. Ford sells the same colour under different names in different countries, which is why we mix by the code, not the name.
